Five Knights Walk Into Bar…

Five Knights Walk Into Bar…

October 25, 2026 | DKz Gaming

Five Knights. One unfamiliar battlefield. Fifteen straight victories.

Saturday night, October 24, The Order of Digital Knightz assembled a full five-man squad and stepped into Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege for what was supposed to be a night of gaming, streaming, and a few laughs.

What happened next surprised even us.

Most of our squad had little to no experience with Siege. We knew the basics: five versus five, attackers and defenders, and a whole lot of opportunities to get shot by someone you never saw coming.

But we’ve been gaming together for years, and while we might not have known the maps, operators, or every mechanic, we knew something arguably more important.

We knew how to play together.

Fifteen Straight. Then Came the Shield.

We loaded into our first match, still figuring out which keys did what, and started winning.

Then we won again.

And again.

Fifteen consecutive victories.

At that point, we were starting to feel pretty unstoppable. Our communication was working, our shooting was getting better, and our confidence was growing with every match.

We even managed five or six flawless match victories, winning without surrendering a single round.

Then Siege decided it was time to introduce us to something new.

A shield operator.

Until that point, we hadn’t encountered anyone who really knew how to use one effectively. This player did, and suddenly our usual approach wasn’t getting the job done.

Our winning streak eventually came to an end.

But that’s part of the fun of learning a new game. Every match teaches you something, and now we’ve got a better idea of what to expect the next time someone comes walking toward us behind a shield.

The Last Man Standing

One of the night’s most memorable moments belonged to DKz-Zephyros, our resident MMORPG player.

Now, going from an MMORPG to a tactical shooter is a pretty big change of pace. There aren’t many opportunities to rely on your usual fantasy combat abilities when someone is coming through a doorway with an assault rifle.

But Zephyros didn’t need any of that.

With the rest of the team eliminated, he found himself the last Knight standing against two enemy players.

One Knight. Two opponents. The entire squad watching.

And he pulled it off.

Zephyros eliminated both opponents and secured the win.

That’s the kind of moment that makes a gaming night memorable. When the pressure is on, everyone is watching, and somebody comes through when it matters.

Not bad for the MMORPG guy!

Apparently, We’re Attacking on Defense Too

Of course, not everyone approached Siege with the patience you’d normally associate with defending a bomb site.

A few of us discovered that defending didn’t necessarily mean sitting around waiting for the enemy to arrive.

DKz-Ninex and DKz-Stoned each found themselves in separate 1v5 situations, and both came out victorious.

That’s right. Each of them managed to eliminate an entire five-player enemy team single-handedly.

And the best part?

They did it before the attackers even made it into the building.

Somewhere, a Siege instructor is probably shaking his head.

We were supposed to be defending the objective, but apparently a couple of Knights decided the best defense was making sure nobody got anywhere near it.

Can’t plant a bomb if you can’t get through the front door.

R00kIE Discovers the Grenade Button

Naturally, a group of players learning a new game together is going to have a few moments.

Ours came during the very first match.

We were still working out our key bindings, trying to figure out which buttons did what, when DKz-R00kIE apparently decided to conduct a little field experiment.

“What does this button do?”

Well, R00kIE, that would be the grenade button.

And roughly three feet away stood DKz-Ninex.

You can probably figure out what happened next.

That little experiment produced the night’s only friendly-fire accident.

Considering we were learning the controls while actively fighting other players, getting through the entire evening with just one friendly-fire incident isn’t a bad accomplishment.

Though we’re probably going to keep an eye on R00kIE whenever he’s holding explosives.

Five Knights, Five Streams

The night was also our first attempt at bringing all five players together for a Twitch multistream.

Our lineup:

  • DKz-Ninex
  • DKz-BSOD
  • DKz-Zephyros
  • DKz-Stoned
  • DKz-R00kIE

The goal was simple: bring our different perspectives together so viewers could follow the action from multiple members of the squad.

The multistream technology didn’t cooperate quite as well as the players did. We encountered browser compatibility issues, particularly with Brave, that kept everything from working exactly as planned.

It’s something we’ll be working on before our next event.

The important part was that all five Knights showed up, everyone had a great time, and we got to spend an evening doing what DKz has always done best.

Gaming together.

The Final Score

By the end of the night, we’d completed 21 matches. One additional session ended with an inactivity disconnect and wasn’t included in our final results.

Here’s how we finished:

Match ResultsTotal
Victories15
Defeats6
Win Rate71.4%
Consecutive Wins15
Flawless Match VictoriesApproximately 5–6

We also had a match go into overtime, where we fought through the extra rounds and came away with another victory.

For a squad where most members had barely touched Rainbow Six Siege before Saturday night, we’ll gladly take those numbers.

But the numbers aren’t really the best part of the story.

Some Things Carry Over From Game to Game

Rainbow Six Siege is a game that rewards map knowledge, positioning, communication, and teamwork.

We came into the night short on map knowledge and experience with the game’s mechanics. What we weren’t short on was teamwork.

That’s something you build over years of playing together.

Knowing how your teammates think, recognizing when someone needs help, understanding how each other reacts under pressure, and being able to laugh when things don’t go according to plan.

Those things don’t disappear just because you load up a game you’ve never played before.

Saturday night gave us a chance to put that to the test.

We had some incredible individual plays, a few lessons learned, one unfortunate grenade incident, and a winning streak none of us expected.

More importantly, all five Knights walked away having had a great time.

And isn’t that why we started playing games together in the first place?

We’ll be back for another round of Siege. Next time we’ll know a little more about the maps, the operators, and what to do when somebody shows up carrying a shield.

As for R00kIE?

We’re still letting him have grenades.

For now.

FOR THE ORDER!
