CODEX I
Codex I โ The Circles of the Order
Codex I establishes the structure, authority, and responsibilities of the Circles within the Order of Digital Knightz.
Article I โ Structure of the Order
The Order of Digital Knightz shall operate under a Five-Circle system.
Each Circle represents increasing trust, responsibility, and authority.
Advancement is not a right. It is an honor bestowed.
Rank exists to serve the Order, not the individual.
The Five Circles are as follows:
5th Circle โ Initiate
The point of entry into the Order. The 5th Circle exists for orientation, observation, and alignment.
4th Circle โ Knight
The rank of trusted membership. The 4th Circle represents commitment, reliability, and active standing within the Order.
3rd Circle โ Banner Bearer
The rank of proven contribution. Members of the 3rd Circle shape the Order through visible action, leadership, and impact.
2nd Circle โ Pillar
The rank of stewardship. Pillars protect culture, guide direction, and carry strategic responsibility.
1st Circle โ Founders
The defining authority of the Order. The 1st Circle establishes doctrine, law, and long-term direction.
Article II โ Eligibility and Elevation
Contribution creates eligibility for elevation within the Order.
Elevation is granted by leadership and may not be claimed by the individual.
No member may campaign, lobby, or demand promotion.
Advancement shall be based on measurable contribution, loyalty, conduct, and alignment with the culture of the Order.
Promotion recognizes impact, not noise. Eligibility may be earned through leadership, recruitment, builder work, activity, influence, or other service to the Order.
Public recognition of elevation may be granted at the discretion of leadership.
Article III โ Authority of the Circles
5th Circle โ Initiate
The 5th Circle is probationary. Initiates are entering the Order and learning its culture, expectations, and standards.
The purpose of this Circle is evaluation and alignment. 5th Circle members may be removed from the guild at leadership discretion.
4th Circle โ Knight
The 4th Circle represents trusted membership. Knights are expected to represent the Order with discipline, consistency, and respect for its culture.
4th Circle members may be removed from the guild at leadership discretion.
3rd Circle โ Banner Bearer
The 3rd Circle represents proven contribution and visible impact. Members of this Circle help shape the Order through action, leadership, and service.
A 3rd Circle member shall not be removed from the guild without formal review. A 3rd Circle member may be demoted to 4th Circle by leadership decision in accordance with the tribunal process.
2nd Circle โ Pillar
The 2nd Circle represents stewardship and strategic responsibility. Pillars protect the culture, growth, and direction of the Order.
A 2nd Circle member shall not be removed without founder-level review. A 2nd Circle member may be demoted to 3rd Circle if stewardship is not maintained.
The number of active 2nd Circle members shall not exceed 15% of total active guild membership. This limitation exists to preserve meaning, responsibility, and structural integrity.
1st Circle โ Founders
The 1st Circle defines doctrine, direction, and final authority within the Order.
Only founders may appoint members to the 1st Circle. The authority of the 1st Circle is final in matters of structure, law, identity, and preservation of the Order.
Article IV โ Conduct
Members of the Order shall conduct themselves with honor.
Public actions reflect upon the reputation of Digital Knightz.
Internal disputes shall be addressed through structure, not disorder.
Loyalty to the Order shall outweigh ego, vanity, and personal politics.
Members are expected to strengthen culture, not erode it.
Abuse of authority, persistent disruption, or conduct harmful to the integrity of the Order may result in review, demotion, or removal.
Article V โ Preservation of Meaning
The Circles exist to preserve meaning within the Order.
Promotion shall not be automatic.
Rank inflation is prohibited.
Rank without responsibility is void.
Scarcity preserves honor, and honor preserves the structure.
The 2nd Circle shall remain limited in number to preserve authority, stewardship, and meaning.
Inflation of upper Circles is prohibited.
Article VI โ Demotion
Demotion is corrective, not punitive.
Demotion may occur due to inactivity, misconduct, failure of stewardship, breach of Order principles, or conduct damaging to the Order.
Demotion does not erase prior contribution.
A demoted member may rise again through renewed contribution, trust, and service.
No member of the 3rd Circle or higher shall be demoted without formal review.
Article VII โ Removal
Removal from the Order is reserved for severe misconduct, repeated violation of Order law, direct harm to members or culture, or betrayal of trust.
Members of the 5th and 4th Circles may be removed at leadership discretion.
Members of the 3rd Circle or higher require formal review before removal.
Final authority for removal rests with the 1st Circle.
Article VIII โ Tribunal and Review Process
No member of the 3rd Circle or higher shall be demoted without formal review.
Demotion shall not occur in secrecy.
The purpose of review is preservation of Order integrity, not punishment.
The dignity of rank shall be respected throughout proceedings.
Grounds for Review
A review may be initiated upon evidence of sustained inactivity inconsistent with rank, failure of stewardship, conduct damaging to the culture or reputation of the Order, breach of established DKz law, or abuse of authority.
Process Structure
1. Concern Raised โ A formal concern is submitted to leadership.
2. Review Initiated โ The 1st Circle acknowledges the concern and opens review.
3. Peer Consultation โ Members within the accused memberโs current Circle are consulted and may present observations, context, concerns, or defense.
4. Deliberation โ The 1st Circle reviews evidence and peer input.
5. Decision Rendered โ The 1st Circle determines outcome.
6. Outcome Communicated โ The member is formally informed of the decision. Where appropriate, the Circle may be notified to preserve transparency.
Authority
Peer consultation is advisory. Final authority rests solely with the 1st Circle.
Preservation of Honor
Demotion shall be corrective when possible. Past contributions are not erased by rank adjustment. No demotion shall be executed in a manner designed to humiliate.
